Today, I honor our friendly neighborhood bioengineers, who bring wonderful new life forms into our world. The first biological engineering program in the U.S. began in 1967 at Mississippi State University. Since then, plenty of other great schools---like MIT and Johns Hopkins---have joined in the fun. That's over 45 years of crafting useful things out of biological materials! Who knows what wonders lie ahead? Go team!
